Lindex is Empowering Stores with the Generative AI

📍Gothenburg, Sweden

This is our third and last episode in Sweden, probably the country with the best stores and innovation. In this episode, Lindex‘s Head of Technology, Florian Westerdahl gives us an overview of their approach to store modernization and its Digital Store Program.

Lindex is a Swedish apparel brand with more than 400 stores in several countries. Starting in 2019, the Digital Store Program aimed to recover the stores from their tech dept and build the foundation for a more digitized environment by implementing, for example, RFID.

During the transformation, a new technology emerged: ChatGPT, giving Florian and his team new ideas on how to make Lindex’s stores and associates more effective by providing them with the data they need using LLM.

In this episode, Florian explains Lindex’s Co-pilot project and how they are using AI to discover the data sources that is needed to make stores more effective. A very interesting view similar to Carrefour’s Data Supermarket that we covered in our first episode.

Florian also shares how 2024 will still not be the year for a fully AI take over as we are lacking the right computing, which Sam Altman might agree given his ask for $7 trillion dollars to build a new chip venture.
